is a traditional English narrowboat built in 1936 by Yarwoods in Northwich, Cheshire. She was originally called Reading and worked for the Grand Union Canal Carrying Company (fleet number 163), carrying a multiplicity of cargoes including coal, coke, cocoa, lime juice and timber between Birmingham and London on the Grand Union Canal. She then passed into the hands of the Willow Wren company who paired her up with the butty Greenshank (originally Bawtry, GUCC Fleet Number 229) and since 1972 she has belonged to the Bristol Packet and now takes passengers on guided tours of Bristol City Docks and the river Avon. I regularly drive Redshank during the summer months. Click on the pictures below to see a larger version.
