Some reviews:
"This play within a play fairly ricochets through the theatre,
at times hypnotic, violent and cruel, at others musical and comedic. The
30-strong cast was simply spellbinding . . . . This was an epic production
that resonated in the mind long after the rapturously received
denouement."
"This production . . . is frequently mesmerizing and looks striking,
set in a great stone prison."
"The theatricality of the piece is is effectively conveyed - most
notably in a series of energetically staged songs and set pieces, led with
grotesque flamboyance by a an excellent chorus of
clowns-cum-lunatics."
